A lifelong resident of the Roanoke Valley/Lake Gaston area, Lyman "Chuck" Shipley, Jr. is a graduate of NC State University and holds a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering. He entered into his career as a bricklayer and framer for Roanoke Construction Co. and returned to this company as a foreman after completing his degree. From there he moved on to the position of Project Manager for Crowder Construction where he managed many locally significant jobs including the Cary, NC Water Intake at Jordan Lake, and the Littleton, NC Wastewater Treatment Plant. In 1988, he realized his goal of starting a custom homebuilding company, Shipley Builders, and has since built and completed over 400 homes on Lake Gaston, Kerr Lake, in Southside Virginia and North Carolina.
Chuck has devoted a lifelong career to gaining experience in various aspects of the construction industry. It is this broad base of knowledge combined with a strong network of local subcontractors which affords him and the staff of Shipley Builders Inc. the ability to meet your home builders expectations.
